i recently discovered these crazy snapback hats decked out in thick chunky acrylic letters and thought.... these are freakin' awesome!  the creative mind behind these pieces is 22 year old rembrandt duran of adeen, whose collection of hats and accessories are inspired from childhood nostalgia and saturday morning cartoons. i love that his pieces are playful, but still badass and edgy!

recently i discovered a photo series by dr. paul koudounaris which features the relics of saints emblazoned with jewels and embellishments. discovered in rome, the skeletons of the saints were sent to catholic churches within europe, where they were latter adorned with jewels and intricate garments. they were on display in shrines "...as reminders of the spiritual treasures that awaited the faithful after death." some of these beautifully haunting remains have never been shown in publication until they were featured for the first time in koudounaris' book.

i must say, i have definitely been feeling the return of baseball jackets to the recent spring/summer 2014 runways.  whether they were printed, sheer, quilted, or embroidered, it didn't matter, i just want to sport {pun intended} them all!

its been a while, but these cooler fall evenings call for some blogging! (and i also blame it on being on my pinterest page all summer!) but when i came across Beyond by Rad Nails, i had to write a post about it!

just when you think how can they reinvent the wheel on nail art, Rad Nails brings it one step further... by extending the artwork to your cuticles! Essentially, its "an easy way to accent your nail art with easy-to-apply temporary cuticle tattoos". I'm sold, and they look amazing with any nail colour and they can even been applied directly on your nails (if the lower regions are still too adventurous for some!)

fashion film house, showstudio knock out another stunning video called splash! the video directed by nick knight features daphne guinness splashed with clear and black water and captured by high speed cameras. the results are a series of "liquid" dresses that will be inspiration for iris van herpen to design a an original water dress. below are a few screen shots from the video.
