the lights are always on, both day and night in new york city.  I was in town a few weeks ago and 

decided to take a few pics of the many neon signs.

they say, "never judge a book by its cover", but sometimes you have to do just the opposite... especially if you are like me and saw the cover art for Metric's new album, Synthetica before its release date.  I knew the album itself would be amazing, (which is is) but it was the beautiful, surreal and haunting artwork that drew me in and made me pre order it right away.

{ factoria joven skate park }

i never imagined a skate park could contain an amazing mix of design and function, but the "factoria joven" successfully does.  created by the design team selgas cano architects, this skate park in merida, spain is an eye candy of bold colours and geometric shapes.  thanks  design milk for the great post!

{ geode street art project }

created by designer a common name, the geode street project used paper to make 3D geometric shapes,  that were placed in different spots throughout the streets of LA.  I absolutely love the gold pieces, they are so intricate, and i still cannot believe they were made of paper!

{ sephora + pantone universe }

in the world of pantone, colour is the name of the game, and every year they celebrate a new colour. this year the colour of choice is "tangerine tango" and pantone have teamed up with sephora to create a collection of make up, nailpolish, even eyelashes inspired by the colour.

if they ever created a collection based on my favourite colour "dahlia" i would have a hard time not wearing it from head to toe.

i came across a documentary about windsor castle in england, and was amazed at the beauty of queen mary's doll house. the miniature house- a replica of the windsor castle, is over 4 feet tall and was developed and completed in 1924 by sir edwin lutyens. with intricate details such as artists' paintings, miniature appliances, toys, and even functioning plumbing and electricity...this doll's house will definitely keep barbie dreaming.  all photos belong to the royal collection
